Vitaly Laletin took away Kamil Jablonski’s flop press by cupping hard enough to turn Kamil’s palm upward. That hand control decided their 4-0 right-arm match at East vs West 27 in Budapest. Kamil lost the position he needed before he could drive his shoulder through.

The result gives Vitaly the right-arm super heavyweight title alongside his left-arm championship. The useful detail is how he handled a specialist whose best move can punish a toproller for taking the wrist.

Kamil Needed More Than A Bent Wrist

Kamil can press with his wrist folded back. Opponents who attack his fingers still have to deal with the shoulder coming forward behind the hand. Taking his wrist can leave that route available.

Vitaly’s cup changed the hand position further. As he flexed his wrist, Kamil was turned palm-up and struggled to keep the rotation needed for his press. His shoulder could no longer follow the hand into a useful pushing position.

That distinction explains the speed of the pins. Vitaly could drive sideways while Kamil was still trying to find a position from which to apply pressure. There was very little time for a second effort.

Kamil’s win over Georgi Tsvetkov had shown he could recover through an outside position when the press stalled. Against Vitaly, he never secured the stop that would make that adjustment useful.

The Outside Attempt Needed A Stop

Kamil did try an open-arm toproll. By the final round he was lowering himself in search of somewhere to hold Vitaly’s attack. It was a reasonable adjustment after the press had failed him.

An open arm still needs hand control. If Kamil could preserve his pronation and slow the sideways movement, he might earn time to work back toward center. Vitaly kept finishing before that recovery became available.

I give Kamil credit for trying another route. Four quick losses can hide the difference between stubbornly repeating a failed move and searching for a usable alternative. He searched. The strength and hand position available to him were insufficient.

Two Titles Leave Bigger Matches To Win

The championship stakes matter. After Levan Saginashvili relinquished the right-arm title, this match offered Vitaly the chance to hold both super heavyweight championships.

A long reign now looks plausible. Calling the whole of 2027 settled would get well ahead of the evidence. Devon Larratt’s previous right-arm win over Vitaly involved a different defensive problem. Levan would bring a different hand fight again.

Those matchups need their own answers. Against Kamil, Vitaly supplied a very specific one. He controlled the rotation early enough to prevent the press from developing, then finished before Kamil could recover.
