Levan Saginashvili has relinquished the East vs West right-arm super-heavyweight title.

He made the announcement during the East vs West 25 press conference in Batumi, Georgia. Levan said he weighed his injury, his health, and a proposed December match before choosing to rest until next year.

The promotion accepted his request. For the first time since Levan took the title from Devon Larratt in April 2024, East vs West has an open championship at the top of its right-arm division.

Levan Chose Recovery and an Open Title

Levan framed the decision as a recovery break with a 2027 return in mind. He wants another athlete to hold the championship while he gets ready, and he intends to challenge for it when he comes back.

That choice gives East vs West room to run a real title race. Our recent look at the promotion’s champion defense clock argued that a belt needs movement when its holder cannot defend. Levan solved that problem himself.

His standing in the sport remains a separate matter. The title is vacant because Levan stepped aside, while his post-2017 dominance still defines the right-arm order. A new champion will receive the gauntlet. Beating Levan remains the larger proof.

Kamil and Georgi Now Have Eliminator Stakes

The first consequence lands at East vs West 25 on August 1. Kamil Jablonski versus Georgi Tsvetkov is now a right-arm super-heavyweight title eliminator.

The official press conference laid out the next step. Saturday’s winner will face an opponent to be determined in Las Vegas in December. That later match is expected to decide the open championship path.

Kamil brings the violent flop press. Georgi wants the hand, the cup, and enough outside control to keep Kamil’s shoulder away from the lane. We already treated this Kamil and Georgi matchup as an audition for something bigger. It became exactly that before either man touched the table.

The vacancy raises the cost of every mistake. One lost setup can put Georgi underneath the press. One exposed wrist can leave Kamil driving without the hand connection he needs.

The Next Champion Inherits Levan’s Standard

Levan said he wants the open belt to motivate the league. It should. Devon Larratt, Vitaly Laletin, Kamil, and Georgi now have a route that ends with a championship instead of another season spent waiting for the Georgian champion’s recovery.

Still, the Levan era has forced everyone else to evolve. A promotion can crown a successor in December. The table will decide whether that athlete can build authority through defenses before Levan returns.
